Choose to be Great: Edition 35

As we approach the bustling and often overwhelming time of the year’s end, I hope this email finds you well.

With the academic year winding down and various end-of-year tasks demanding our attention, allow me to encourage you to remember your own well-being. So often, as we rush around trying to take care of everyone else, we forget about ourselves. Yes, there’s a lot to do as you close out the year; but I want you to try to find moments – seconds, even – to prioritize yourself.

Sometimes this looks like saying “no” to the fourth event of the school week and allowing another member of your team to carry the weight that evening. For others, like a new friend and fellow Principal recently told me, it simply means, “doing less better.”

Remember, by taking care of yourself, you are setting a powerful example for others. Embrace this opportunity to model the importance of self-care and foster a culture of well-being, even during busy times, within your school community.

Wishing you strength, balance, and rejuvenation as you navigate the end of the year. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to education and your remarkable leadership.

Choose to be Great!
