Choose to be Great: Family (Y2:E27)

This week, I write to you on the heels of celebrating my cousin’s wedding. The ceremony was beautiful, marking the beginning of their shared journey. Equally important, it brought our family together, providing an opportunity to strengthen our bonds and reminisce about memories of years gone by. This weekend will linger in my memory.

As leaders, we often face the dilemma of balancing family time with professional responsibilities. For 15 years, I dedicated myself to my work, prioritizing it above all else. While I achieved professional success, it came at the cost of neglecting personal and familial relationships. While I’m proud of the work I did, the truth is: I feel some guilt, too.

I hope you’ll learn from my experience and reflect on your own priorities. Are you carving out dedicated time for your family each week? Each day? Even if you’re nodding along in agreement, consider how you can deepen those connections further. We can never prioritize our loved ones enough.

The call to greatness is not just a professional one; it’s personal, too.
