Mistakes happen and it will be okay.

As educational leaders, we have a responsibility to move this conversation from “one more thing” to “What’s worth doing?”

If we can learn something from the wisdom of trees, maybe it’s that the strong should be helping the weak to ensure learning takes place across all the classrooms in a school. After all, we never know when the conditions will change and those that were formerly strong will need help from those who were formerly weak.

I encourage you to reflect on what you can do better, what’s out of your control, and what the general pattern of your interactions with others is marked by.

When we assume, our hearts and minds are closed. Conversely, when we show up with open hearts and curious minds, many possibilities begin to unfold – oftentimes, possibilities we could never have imagined.

Choose to remember that the relationship is bigger than the disagreement.

Let’s never forget that there’s a human on the other side of that student and make it a priority to always put the human part before the student part.

Choosing to be Great involves making time to laugh, especially at yourself.

I truly believe there are few callings as high and noble as working in schools.
